Washington –On Tuesday, US President Donald Trump received Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House, in their first meeting since the end of the joint military campaign carried out by the United States and Israel against Iran, amid escalating regional tensions and continuing controversy over the Iranian nuclear file.
Netanyahu said, after the meeting, that the discussions were “excellent,” stressing that there was agreement with Trump on the need to prevent Iran from possessing a nuclear weapon, and noting that relations between the two countries are based on “full partnership and mutual support.”
For his part, Trump reiterated that the United States prefers diplomatic solutions with Iran, but stressed his readiness to take new military measures if the negotiations fail, considering that Washington is “in a very strong position.” He also repeated his threat to target fortified Iranian facilities if an agreement was not reached.

This is the eighth meeting between Trump and Netanyahu since the US President returned to the White House, and it also comes in light of rapid developments related to the war in Gaza, the Iranian nuclear file, and US-Israeli relations.
In parallel with the meeting, pro-Palestinian demonstrators organized a protest in front of the White House, demanding an end to American support for Israel, while former Israeli figures called on the American president to raise the issue of settler violence in the West Bank during his talks with Netanyahu.
