Jerusalem –The Israeli army announced a reduction in the pace of its offensive operations in the Gaza Strip, based on directives from the political level, at a time when Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed Israel’s rejection of the American draft of the road map related to the ceasefire, while presenting comments to reformulate it.
Israeli media reported from a military source that the Army Chief of Staff, Eyal Zamir, issued instructions to tighten restrictions on carrying out offensive operations and assassinations inside the Gaza Strip, so that any strike now requires his direct approval, in a step that is expected to lead to a reduction in the frequency of raids during the next stage.
According to the same sources, the Israeli army carried out only one raid during the past 48 hours, after a period of military escalation, an indication of a relative change in the rules of engagement in conjunction with the ongoing political endeavors.

On the other hand, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stressed that Israel will not withdraw from its positions inside the Gaza Strip before completely disarming Hamas, stressing that his country continues to study the proposals put forward regarding the future of the Strip.
Netanyahu revealed that the US administration presented a draft of a road map related to the next stage, but the Israeli government rejected it in its current form and referred its observations to Washington for reconsideration.
These developments come as the mediators continue their efforts to push the parties towards completing the ceasefire agreement, amid continuing disagreements regarding the implementation of its stages, and the exchange of accusations between Israel and the Hamas movement regarding adherence to the terms of the agreement, especially with regard to withdrawal, disarmament, and the humanitarian protocol.
