Tripoli –The Central Municipality of Tripoli, during an expanded monitoring campaign, closed a number of violating hotels after monitoring health and environmental conditions that it described as “dangerous,” in addition to violations related to accommodation conditions and the illegal exploitation of some facilities.
The campaign was supervised by members of the Municipal Council, with the participation of the Monitoring Committee, the Environmental Sanitation Department, the Municipal Guard Service, Tripoli Central Branch, in addition to a number of security agencies and competent authorities.
According to the Central Municipality of Tripoli, inspections resulted in the closure of a number of hotels that did not meet the minimum health and environmental requirements, after monitoring the spread of filth and the accumulation of waste, which constitutes a threat to public health and environmental safety.
The campaign also revealed the illegal exploitation of some sites, turning them into hotbeds of chaos and neglect, in addition to suspicions of their use to shelter intruders illegally, which necessitated taking immediate measures in accordance with applicable laws.
The municipality confirmed that these campaigns fall within its efforts to strengthen field oversight, stressing the continued implementation of the law and taking the necessary measures against violators, in order to preserve public health and the safety of residents.
