صحافة بلادي — Rabat –Gasoline prices at gas stations in Morocco recorded a decrease of 20 centimes per liter, starting from Friday, October 16, 2026, while premium gasoline maintained its previous price, according to professional data reported by Moroccan media. This limited decline comes after successive increases witnessed by the national market over the past months, amid continued fluctuations in international energy markets.
The final price of gasoline and gasoline varies from one station to another depending on the city and the distribution company, so the prices traded remain approximate indicators and are not a uniform price at the national level. The new reduction reduces a limited portion of the cost of fuel supply, but it comes after accumulated increases that have increased the burdens of transportation and professional transportation.
At the international level, this adjustment coincided with a decline in oil prices during Friday trading, at a time when concerns about supply disruptions, especially in the Middle East region and around the Strait of Hormuz, continued to influence market trends. Reuters reported that Brent crude and West Texas Intermediate crude remained heading towards recording weekly gains despite the decline recorded in some trading.
Among the developments related to the fuel market is the arrival of a shipment of Russian gasoline on the supply route to Morocco. Reuters reported, citing data from the London Stock Exchange Group, that a tanker loaded with about 40,000 tons of low-sulfur gasoline left the Russian port of Primorsk towards the Kingdom after loading the shipment on October 13. The identity of the importer, the port of discharge, or the arrival date of the tanker have not been revealed, according to published data, nor is there any data confirming that this shipment will be directly reflected in the selling prices at gas stations.
In international markets, the International Energy Agency agreed to release more than 20 million barrels of gasoline, coinciding with the continuing tensions affecting energy flows through the Strait of Hormuz. Reuters noted that fears of supply disruption contributed to supporting oil prices, despite their decline during some trading, which remains international market developments an important factor in monitoring fuel costs.
Consumers and professionals are anticipating the next review of prices at the beginning of November, but the price trend remains dependent on developments in supply, the costs of refined products, and the decisions of distribution companies. The 20 centimeter decrease in gasoline alone does not compensate for the accumulated increases recorded since mid-summer.
