Egypt and Mauritania enhance cooperation in the field of digital transformation and artificial intelligence

NouakchottThe Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Mauritania, Dr. Ahmed Taye, discussed with the Mauritanian Minister of Digital Transformation, Innovation and Modernization of Administration, Engineer Ahmed Salem Ould Badda, ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the fields of digital transformation and artificial intelligence, within the framework of preparation for the third session of the Egyptian-Mauritanian Joint Higher Committee.

The discussions focused on completing preparations for signing a memorandum of understanding in the fields of digital transformation and artificial intelligence, with the aim of establishing an institutional framework for exchanging expertise and transferring technology, in a way that supports cooperation between the two countries in priority sectors and keeps pace with rapid technological developments.

The two sides also discussed coordination mechanisms within relevant regional and international organizations, in addition to exchanging views on global developments related to the uses of artificial intelligence in various vital sectors.

The Mauritanian Minister of Digital Transformation and Innovation stressed his country’s keenness to raise the level of cooperation with Egypt in this field, expressing his aspiration to complete the necessary procedures to sign the memorandum of understanding as soon as possible, in a way that enhances digital transformation efforts and serves the aspirations of the two peoples.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the two parties agreed to continue coordination and consultation during the next stage, with the aim of developing the bilateral partnership and expanding areas of cooperation in digital transformation and artificial intelligence.
