My Press – Tripoli / Rabat |Technical and economic discussions are continuing between officials and chambers of commerce in both the Kingdom of Morocco and Libya in order to activate a package of practical measures aimed at resuming direct flights and facilitating movement and commercial exchanges between the two brotherly countries.
Promising prospects for economic partnership and reconstruction
Joint economic sources confirmed that the two sides are working to overcome all logistical and administrative obstacles to open broader horizons for economic operators:
- Resuming air and sea connectivity:Completing technical and security arrangements to restart direct air routes between Casablanca, Tripoli and Benghazi, in addition to a sea line to transport goods and commodities.
- Facilitating visa procedures:Adopting a simplified and rapid mechanism for granting visas for the benefit of Libyan investors, businessmen, students and patients heading to Moroccan clinics and universities.
- Contribution of Moroccan companies to reconstruction:There is a growing interest of leading Moroccan companies in the construction, public works, electricity and renewable energy sectors to participate in reconstruction projects in Libya.
The Kingdom of Morocco enjoys a distinguished position among the various Libyan parties thanks to its balanced diplomacy and its embrace of the Libyan dialogue tracks in Skhirat, Bouznika and Tangier.
