Mauritania and Turkey are discussing expanding cooperation in higher education and scientific research

Istanbul– The Mauritanian Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Yacoub Ould Amine, discussed with the Turkish Minister of National Education, Youssef Tekin, ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the fields of higher education and scientific research, during their meeting in the Turkish capital, Istanbul.

The two sides discussed the prospects for developing the partnership between Mauritania and Turkey, with a focus on expanding academic cooperation and exchanging scientific and technical expertise, which contributes to supporting institutions of higher education and scientific research in the two countries.

The meeting took place at the Pullman Istanbul Hotel, on the sidelines of the Mauritanian Minister’s participation in the seventh session of the World Conference on Educational TechnologyTETZ 2026, whose work was launched under the slogan:“The Future of Education in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: Peace, Humanity, and a Common Future”.

On Friday, Ould Amine began an official visit to Türkiye to participate in the conference, which brings together officials, experts and specialists in the fields of education and technology from a number of countries around the world.

The meeting was attended by the Mauritanian Ambassador to Türkiye, Sidi Ahmed Al-Bakai Ould Hamadi, and the Cultural Advisor, Meriem Bint Boubacar, as well as members of the delegation accompanying the Minister.
