A joint health team in Sudan intervenes urgently to limit the spread of the cholera epidemic in the Umm Harouf area in North Darfur

It was implemented by a joint team from the Ministry of Health instateNorth Darfur, headed by the former Director General of the Ministry, Dr. Mujtaba Al-Tijani Youssef, and with the participation of representatives from the Sahara and Otash organizations and the German Agricultural Work Organization, carried out urgent preventive interventions in the Umm Harouf area of ​​Al-Lait locality, with the aim of reducing the spread of the cholera epidemic in the local community. (7) cases of infection were recorded, of which (3) died, during the past week.

The team also conducted active case investigations within the community.

Preventive medications were also provided to those in contact and environmental sanitation activities were activated, in addition to monitoring the quality and safety of drinking water at the level of stations in the region.
