Morocco –The Crown Prosecutor at the Court of First Instance in Benslimane decided to pursue three brothers in the case of arrest and to place them in the local prison, against the backdrop of a case that sparked widespread interaction on social networking sites, following the circulation of a video clip showing a minor child being encouraged to drink an alcoholic drink.
According to the case data, the suspects were brought before the Public Prosecution, which decided to pursue them on charges related to insulting others, participation, and failure to provide assistance to a person in a dangerous situation, before referring them to the local prison pending the completion of the judicial procedure.
The details of the case are due to the spread of a video clip on social media platforms showing a six-year-old child, while people appeared to encourage him to consume an alcoholic drink, which sparked a widespread wave of condemnation and great interactions among social media users.
Activities and associations concerned with children’s rights also expressed their rejection of the incident, demanding the implementation of legal requirements to protect children from all practices that may affect their physical or psychological safety.
The Public Prosecution responded to the case after the video was widely circulated, and an investigation was opened into the matter, which led to the arrest of the suspects and their referral to justice to continue the applicable legal procedures.
