Tetouan –On Wednesday evening, His Majesty King Mohammed VI delivered the Throne Speech to the Moroccan people on the occasion of the twenty-seventh anniversary of his accession to the throne of his distinguished predecessors, stressing that the Kingdom is entering a new phase of its development path based on strengthening national sovereignty, consolidating stability, and accelerating the pace of economic growth, while continuing major reforms.
His Majesty the King stressed that what Morocco has achieved over the past years was not the result of coincidence, but rather the result of a clear strategic vision based on initiative, careful follow-up, and constructive self-criticism, stressing that the main goal has always remained to serve the Moroccan citizen and empower him with the conditions for a decent life.
His Majesty explained that Morocco is currently living in a phase that requires consolidating confidence and optimism, highlighting that security, stability and the effectiveness of institutions constitute a strategic asset that strengthens the Kingdom’s position in a regional and international environment that is witnessing increasing unrest.
On the economic side, His Majesty the King revealed that the growth rate amounted to about4.9 percent during the year 2025With expectations of maintaining or exceeding the same level during the year 2026, he pointed out that the good agricultural season and important rainfalls contributed to enhancing water and food security.
He also highlighted that Morocco has consolidated its position as an industrial and investment pole, becomingThe first automobile exporter in AfricaThe production capacity is approximately one million cars annually, while exports from the automotive and aviation sectors now represent more than40 percent of total national exports, ahead of phosphate exports.
His Majesty the King pointed to the launch of new industrial projects that enabled the Kingdom to join the countries producing aircraft engines and landing systems, in addition to developing the electric battery industry, thus enhancing Morocco’s integration into global strategic industrial chains.
In the field of energy, His Majesty stressed the continuation of implementing major projects related to renewable energies, while launching the download ofMorocco’s green hydrogen offerThrough licensing the first group of investment projects.
King Mohammed VI stressed thatStrengthening national sovereignty and strategic sufficiencyThey have become the focus of the Kingdom’s industrial policy, pointing out that the food and pharmaceutical industries today cover about80 percent of national needsWith a move towards building an industrial base in the fields of defense industries and cybersecurity.
His Majesty also called on the financial sector to expand financing mechanisms directed to small and medium enterprises, innovation and manufacturing, while mobilizing national savings to support major development projects.
At the international level, King Mohammed VI stressed that Morocco has strengthened its position as a reliable international actor and a sought-after economic partner, thanks to the policy of diversifying partnerships and openness to new and balanced cooperation horizons.
At the conclusion of the speech, His Majesty the King renewed his praise of all components of the Royal Armed Forces, the Royal Gendarmerie, National Security, Auxiliary Forces, Civil Defense, and Territorial Administration, for their constant mobilization to defend the nation’s unity, security and stability, recalling the spirits of the late Kings Mohammed V and Hassan II, may God bless them.
