Morocco faces Scotland, returning after 28 years, in a fiery test at the 2026 World Cup

The Moroccan national football team continues its preparations for the upcoming confrontation against the Scotland national team, scheduled for next Friday, in the second round of the first group competitions in the 2026 World Cup finals, in a match that the sports street is anticipating amid intense technical and tactical preparations from both sides.

Yesterday, Tuesday, the “Atlas Lions” held a training session at “Pingry School” Stadium in New Jersey, under the leadership of national voter Mohamed Wehbe, who focuses on raising physical and mental readiness, in addition to developing harmony between the three lines, and working on offensive and defensive solutions directed to deal with the style of the Scottish national team.

The Moroccan technical staff is working to invest the days between the match in order to control the precise details and correct some of the observations recorded in the first match, while being careful to maintain the group’s format in preparation for a confrontation described as strong within the group.

On the other hand, the Scotland national team enters the confrontation recalling its return to the World Cup finals after a long absence since the 1998 edition in France, where it failed to reach the 2022 World Cup after being eliminated from the European qualifiers, to return this time with the ambition of regaining its presence on the global stage, under the leadership of coach Steve Clarke, who led his team to qualify after a decisive match against Denmark that ended (4-2).

The Scottish team is betting on physical strength and a clear tactical organization, along with players capable of making the difference in midfield and on set pieces, which prompts the Moroccan crew to carefully study the strengths and weaknesses through video clips and technical analyses.

In this context, a Moroccan international coach stressed in media statements that the confrontation against Scotland cannot be measured by the performance of a previous match against Brazil, stressing that “each match has its own circumstances,” with the need to deal with high concentration and avoid any mental or physical decline.

Sports analysts also warned of the strength of the Scottish team in physical struggles, long balls and quick rebounds, considering that resolving the match requires tactical discipline and adopting a balance between defense and attack, while investing in the rapid transformations that the Moroccan team demonstrated in the first match.

The match will take place tomorrow, Friday, on the floor of Boston Stadium, starting at six in the evening, local time in the United States, and eleven in the evening, Moroccan time, in a confrontation during which the Moroccan team seeks to enhance its chances of qualifying for the next round.
