The Atlas Lionesses sweep Cape Verde by five before the start of the Women’s Africa Cup

Casablanca –The Moroccan women’s national football team continued its preparations for the African Cup of Nations, “Morocco 2026”, by achieving a major victory over the Cape Verde national team, 5-0, in the friendly match that brought them together on Tuesday evening on the grounds of Father Djeko Stadium in Casablanca.

Ibtissam Al-Jaraidi opened the scoring in the 21st minute, before Sanaa Masoudi added three “hat-trick” goals in the 37th, 61st and 64th minutes, while Yasmine Al-Murabit concluded the goal festival by scoring the fifth goal in the 84th minute.

This victory comes to give the “Atlas Lionesses” a strong morale boost before the start of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations finals, which will be hosted by the Kingdom of Morocco during the period from July 26 to August 16, 2026.

The draw for the tournament placed the Moroccan team in the first group alongside the teams of Senegal, Algeria and Kenya, as it aspires to go far in the competition and invest in the ground staff and the public to achieve a new achievement in Moroccan women’s football.
