Global Safety Report: Morocco outperforms its neighbors in the Personal Security Index.

The 2025 Global Safety Report, issued by the American Gallup Foundation, revealed that Morocco ranks average at the global level in the index of personal security and feeling of safety. Despite this general classification, the report showed Morocco’s clear superiority in the Middle East and North Africa region, as it was ranked among the safest countries in the region, surpassing many of its neighbors in indicators related to a sense of security and stability.

According to the report, Morocco obtained 78 points out of 100 on the law and order index, which is the same result recorded by countries such as Panama, Côte d’Ivoire, and Ethiopia. This rate places the Kingdom in the category of countries with a moderate sense of security, but it also highlights its advanced position regionally.

As for feeling safe while walking around at night, 68 percent of Moroccans stated that they feel reassured when walking alone in their neighborhoods or cities. Although this percentage is less than the global average of 73 percent, it is much better than rates recorded in a number of African and Latin American countries, where the feeling of safety declines to less than 50 percent.

When comparing Tunisia’s performance with neighboring countries, it turns out that it achieved 74 points, which is consistent with the regional average. In contrast, Algeria scored only 71 points, which reflects a lower level of feeling of security or confidence in security institutions. As for Egypt, it exceeded the regional average by obtaining 75 points, but it is still behind Morocco, which clearly topped the region in terms of confidence in the police and sense of personal security.
