In a new development in the file of Mohamed Boudriga, the Moroccan parliamentarian and former president of Raja Sports Club, the German Ministry of Justice announced its approval to extradite him to Morocco, months after his arrest in Hamburg according to a warrant issued by Interpol.
The German Public Prosecution said in a statement to the websiteDW ArabicThe remainder of the legal process is “practically implementing the extradition process,” explaining that the decision has become final after all legal stages of appeal have been exhausted.
This comes after the German Constitutional Court rejected Boudriga’s appeal to suspend his extradition decision, confirming in an official response issued on April 4, 2025, that it “decided not to accept the constitutional complaint,” without presenting the merits of the decision, in accordance with what is stipulated in the court’s law.
Boudriga was arrested at Hamburg Airport on the evening of July 16, 2024, and detained in one of the city’s prisons at the request of the Moroccan authorities through the International Criminal Police, without the German or Moroccan authorities disclosing the nature of the accusations against him so far.
With this approval, Germany has opened the way for an expected official extradition, amid official secrecy about the details of the file and the charges behind the international arrest warrant.
