Rabat –The Court of Arbitration for Sport (TAS) announced that October 8, 2026 has been set as the date for the hearing of the dispute filed by the Senegalese Football Federation against both the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the Royal Moroccan Football Federation regarding the final of the Africa Cup of Nations “Morocco 2025”.
The court stated, in an official statement, that the session will be held at its headquarters in the Swiss city of Lausanne, to consider the appeal submitted by the Senegalese Federation on March 25, 2026.
The Senegalese Federation demands the cancellation of the CAF decision, which deemed the Senegal team defeated in the final by withdrawing, and awarded the victory to the Moroccan team with a score of 3-0. It also demands that it be declared champion of the tournament.
The court confirmed that all parties to the dispute did not agree to adopt an urgent procedure, which means that the case will proceed according to the normal time procedures in force at the court. She also indicated that the session will be held behind closed doors, after none of the parties requested it to be made public.
The Court of Arbitration for Sport added that the arbitration panel will enter the deliberations stage after the end of the hearing, without the possibility of setting a date for issuing the final ruling at the present time, stressing that the decision will not be issued on the day of the hearing.
At the conclusion of its report, the court alerted to the spread of information it described as “incorrect” about this case in some media outlets, stressing that the communications issued through its official channels are the only source of information related to this file, and that any new developments will be announced through its official website.
