Mauritania and France strengthen their partnership… signing more than 60 agreements in strategic areas

Mauritania – My Press

More than 60 French institutions signed cooperation agreements with Mauritania, at the conclusion of a state visit by Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Ghazouani to France, in a step that reflects a trend towards strengthening the economic partnership between the two countries.

According to official data, these agreements included vital areas, including energy, water, and infrastructure, which reflects a common interest in developing development and investment projects with a strategic dimension.

This dynamic falls within the context of an official visit initiated by the Mauritanian president on Tuesday, which is the first of its kind by a Mauritanian president to France in several decades, during which he held discussions with his French counterpart, which dealt with ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and develop economic relations.

The visit program also included meetings with a number of French officials and visits to institutions and bodies, including the National Assembly and the Paris Municipality, as well as institutions specialized in the maritime and industrial fields.

Observers believe that these agreements reflect a common desire to expand areas of cooperation, especially in sectors related to infrastructure and energy, in a way that keeps pace with development challenges and enhances investment opportunities between the two countries.

This step comes within the framework of renewed dynamism in Mauritanian-French relations, which seeks to strengthen economic partnership and develop joint projects during the next stage.
