Eyes –Yesterday, the city of Laayoune witnessed the signing of an agreement under which the United States Agency for Trade and Development granted(USTDA)Financing the Investors AllianceORNXTo complete a preliminary engineering study for the green ammonia production project, in a step aimed at accelerating the implementation of one of the strategic projects within the green hydrogen program in the Kingdom.
The grant aims to finance the technical and engineering studies necessary for the project, which is being developed within the framework of a partnership between Moroccan and American companies, thus contributing to mobilizing investments and accelerating the completion stages.

The US Ambassador to Morocco, Duke Buchan III, confirmed that this agreement represents the first direct financing provided by the US government to the private sector in the Moroccan Sahara, considering that it reflects the strength of Moroccan-American relations and the development of economic cooperation between the two countries.
AsThe American diplomat reaffirmed his country’s support for the Moroccan plan for self-ruleAs a basis for reaching a permanent solution to the regional dispute over the Moroccan Sahara, he pointed out that the project would enhance investment opportunities, create jobs, and support economic development in the southern provinces.
For his part, Thomas Hardy, Deputy Director of Operations at the US Trade and Development Agency, explained thatThe grant will fund the preliminary engineering study of the projectThis will help complete the technical aspects and facilitate the mobilization of the necessary funds for its implementation, stressing that the agency will continue to support infrastructure projects and economic partnerships in Morocco.
In turn, the Director of Economic Diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Residing Abroad, Mohamed Amin Belhaj, confirmed that the agreement falls within the continuing dynamism of Moroccan-American relations, in conjunction with the celebration of250 years have passed since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countriesHe highlighted the growing interest of American companies in investing in the Kingdom, especially in the southern regions.
The ORNX project is one of the structured projects in the field of green ammonia production in the city of Laayoune, and comes within the framework of the national strategy for green hydrogen, whichIt is implemented in accordance with the royal vision aimed at strengthening Morocco’s position as a regional pole in renewable energies and sustainable industry.
