Morocco –The General Delegation for Prison Administration and Reintegration announced today, Thursday, that 1,074 male and female inmates in prison institutions succeeded in passing the baccalaureate exams for the regular session of 2026, out of 2,466 candidates from the category of free persons, in results that reflect an increase in success rates compared to last year.
The delegate’s statement stated that the success rate reached 44 percent, exceeding the national rate for independent candidates estimated at 37.4 percent, with a 147 percent increase in the number of successful candidates compared to the 2025 session.
The same source added that 868 inmates, both male and female, will pass the remedial course, which represents 35.2 percent of the total number of prisoner candidates, while the number of those who received the advantage (recommended, good, and very good) reached 409 successes, representing 38.08 percent of the total number of successful candidates.
The delegation confirmed that these results reflect the effectiveness of educational programs within prison institutions, which aim to support training and reintegration, highlighting the continued work to improve educational attainment conditions inside prisons, and to provide inmates with educational and rehabilitative opportunities that will help them integrate after the end of their sentence.
The delegation called on the administrations of prison institutions to continue mobilizing efforts to ensure the best conditions for passing the remedial course, and to enhance the training process within these correctional spaces
