In a new development in the African Cup of Nations final file,Confederation of African FootballRegarding postponing consideration of the appeal I submittedRoyal Moroccan Football UniversityAgainst the penalties issued by its disciplinary committee, related to the events that accompanied the final match.
According to identical data circulated by media sources, CAF has asked the Appeals Committee to postpone its meeting until after the Executive Office meeting scheduled for next Friday, awaiting the final decisions that will result in determining the general framework for dealing with the file.
The same sources indicated that there was a discrepancy within the Executive Office between two conflicting trends. One team calls for turning the page on the final without introducing any amendment to the announced penalties, while another team calls for them to be tightened, or even doubled, to avoid repeating controversial scenes in the future.
In this context, it is expected that the Appeals Committee will set the date of its first session immediately after the conclusion of the CAF Executive Office meeting, in order to decide on the Moroccan appeal and take the final decision regarding the sanctions, thus putting an end to the long wait within football circles and following up on the file.
