Last Saturday, the United Nations Support Mission in Libya called on the Libyan authorities to locate the kidnapped member of Parliament, Ibrahim Al-Darsi, and secure his immediate release.
The mission urged, in a statement published on the “X” platform, “to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances of Al-Darsi’s disappearance and to hold those responsible accountable according to the law.”
The Ministry of Interior of the Libyan government appointed by Parliament announced yesterday evening, Friday, that it was investigating the “kidnapping” of Member of Parliament Ibrahim Al-Darsi.
According to a statement by the Ministry’s Security Information Office, the Benghazi Security Directorate received a report about the disappearance of the member of parliament “after entering his house and robbing him in the late hours of the night.”
The statement added, “The Director of Benghazi Security, the Internal Security Service, and the Criminal Investigation Service have been assigned to open a comprehensive and urgent investigation to determine the circumstances of Al-Darsi’s disappearance.”
