Tunisia –The Moroccan women’s under-17 football team was crowned champion of the North African Union League, following its exciting victory over the Tunisian national team, 4-3, in the match that brought them together, on Wednesday evening, at Ariana Stadium, in the third and final round of the tournament.
The Lionesses entered the decisive confrontation needing to win in order to clinch the title, after the Moroccan national team began its campaign with a draw against Botswana (1-1), before achieving a broad victory over Libya with a score of (10-0), while Tunisia had achieved two successive victories over Libya and Botswana.
After the coronation, the coach of the Moroccan national team, Younes Rabie, expressed his happiness at winning the title, stressing that the greatest gain was the performance provided by the players throughout the tournament, in addition to interacting with different football schools in preparation for the upcoming competitions.
He explained that this group, which includes players born in 2010, constitutes the basic nucleus of the Moroccan U-17 national team, in preparation for competing in the 2027 World Cup.
This coronation continues to confirm the continued development of Moroccan women’s football, in light of the positive results achieved by national teams in various age groups at the continental and regional levels.
