Rabat.. Hammouchi receives the Brazilian ambassador to enhance bilateral security cooperation

Morocco –The Director General of National Security and the Directorate of National Territorial Surveillance, Abdellatif Hamouchi, received today, Thursday, June 11, in his office at the new headquarters of the General Directorate of National Security in Rabat, Mr. Alexandre Kido Lopez Parola, the accredited Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Brazil to Morocco.

During this meeting, the two parties reviewed the levels of distinguished cooperation between Morocco and Brazil in security areas of common interest, which include border security, combating terrorism, and combating transnational crime.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to evaluate bilateral security cooperation and develop a joint strategic vision to enhance cooperation mechanisms in the areas of police training, combating illegal immigration networks, and monitoring and combating the movements of terrorist organizations in the Sahel-Sahara region.

This meeting comes within the framework of following up on the implementation of the contents of the memorandum of understanding signed in 2024 by the Director General of National Security with the Director General of the Brazilian Federal Police, which aims to enhance joint cooperation in combating transnational organized crime, including smuggling of drugs and psychotropic substances, terrorism, human and weapons trafficking, money laundering, cybercrimes, and document forgery.

Through this meeting, the two parties affirmed their commitment to enhancing security integration, activating strategic partnerships with friendly and brotherly countries, and strengthening information exchange channels and specialized training programs in police fields.
