Rabat and Washington: A strategic partnership that brings Moroccan investment to the American market

Youssef El Amrani, Moroccan Ambassador to the United States, confirmed that the economic partnership between Rabat and Washington has reached “mature levels,” highlighting the depth of the strategic rapprochement between the two countries, during a meeting organized Monday, May 12, on the sidelines of the Kingdom’s fifth participation in the “SelectUSA” investment program.

The meeting witnessed the presence of prominent figures from the public and private sectors of the two countries, including Marissa Scott, Consul General of the United States in Rabat, and Thomas Bruns, Deputy Undersecretary of Commerce in charge of the Middle East and Africa.

Al-Omrani stressed the importance of building future partnerships based on innovation, energy and industrial integration, calling for investing in the free trade agreement between the two countries as a strategic tool to enter the American market, while affirming the commitment of the Moroccan embassy to accompany investors and facilitate their communication.

For her part, the American Consul welcomed the participation of 22 representatives of the Moroccan private sector, praising the diversity of the fields they represent, considering that the “SelectUSA” summit symbolizes the strength of the Moroccan-American partnership.

As for American official Thomas Bruns, he praised the ambition of Moroccan companies, calling for enhancing economic exchanges and taking advantage of the opportunities offered by the American market, stressing that trust is the key to success in this partnership.

The SelectUSA program is one of the most prominent platforms for promoting foreign investment in the United States, and since its launch, it has contributed to attracting investments exceeding $270 billion and supporting more than 240,000 jobs.
