Nouakchott –On July 7, the African Forum for Electricity and Renewable Energy will begin in the Mauritanian capital, Nouakchott, with the participation of a Moroccan delegation that includes 26 companies, in an event aimed at strengthening energy integration between African countries and developing partnerships and investments in the energy sector.
The forum is jointly organized by the Moroccan National Federation of Electricity, Electronics and Renewable Energies (FENELEC) and the Mauritanian Federation of Energy and Electricity (FEMEELEC), with the support of the Confederation of African Electricity and Renewable Energies (CAFELEC), and with the participation of government officials, investors, experts and representatives of the public and private sectors from 12 African countries.
This continental meeting aims to provide a platform for dialogue and exchange of experiences on the most prominent challenges facing the electricity and renewable energy sector, with a focus on developing electrical infrastructure, rural electrification, financing projects, and strengthening regional electrical interconnection projects, in the context of the accelerating pace of the energy transition on the continent.
The forum will devote an important space to reviewing the Moroccan and Mauritanian experiences in the field of developing energy systems, in addition to highlighting the structural projects implemented by the two countries, including electricity dissemination programs in Morocco and regional electrical interconnection projects.
The event also witnesses the signing of a partnership agreement between the two organizing bodies in Morocco and Mauritania, with the aim of expanding cooperation in the areas of exchanging experiences, developing competencies, and supporting industrial and investment partnerships between actors in the sector.
The program will include bilateral business meetings (B2B) bringing together Moroccan, Mauritanian and African companies, to discuss cooperation opportunities and launch joint projects in the fields of electricity, electronics and renewable energies, in a way that enhances economic integration and sustainable development at the African level.
