Morocco enters the club of top tourist destinations in the world.. 19.8 million tourists raise the Kingdom to 22nd place in the world

Rabat –The Moroccan tourism sector continued to achieve positive indicators at the international level, after Morocco rose to twenty-second place in the world on the list of the most attractive destinations for tourists during the year 2025, according to the latest data of the World Tourism Barometer issued by the United Nations Tourism Organization.

The Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts, Social and Solidarity Economy reported that the Kingdom received a total of 19.8 million tourists during the year 2025, which enabled it to gain three ranks at once compared to the previous year, and 12 ranks compared to the year 2019.

Morocco also recorded an improvement in the ranking of international tourism revenues, moving from 32nd to 31st place in the world, after the sector’s revenues amounted to about 14.8 billion dollars during the past year.

These results, according to the Ministry, reflect the dynamism witnessed by the tourism sector in the Kingdom, in light of the continued implementation of the tourism road map launched by the government in 2023, which is based on enhancing air connectivity, developing the tourism offer, increasing accommodation capacity, improving the quality of services, and training human resources.

Positive indicators continue to record advanced levels during the year 2026, as official data showed that the number of arrivals to Morocco increased during the first quarter of the current year by nearly 7 percent, a rate more than three times higher than the global average recorded during the same period.

In this context, the Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts, Social and Solidarity Economy, Fatima Zahraa Amour, confirmed that these results reflect the dynamism of the sector, and support the efforts aimed at strengthening Morocco’s position among the most prominent global tourist destinations by the year 2030.

This progress strengthens Morocco’s position on the international tourism map, at a time when the Kingdom continues to attract increasing numbers of visitors thanks to the diversity of its natural and cultural capabilities and the improvement of its tourism and service infrastructure.
