LibyaThe regions of Ghat, Tahala, and Al-Owainat in southwestern Libya are witnessing a continuous deterioration in basic services, as a result of the continuing power outages and a severe shortage of fuel supplies for more than ten consecutive days, which has made the living conditions of the population more difficult.
The National Institution for Human Rights in Libya reported that this crisis had a direct impact on the daily lives of residents, especially with regard to the operation of vital facilities and basic services, in light of the widespread reliance on electricity and fuel to conduct various activities.
The corporation expressed its denunciation of the continuation of this situation, holding the Libyan government responsible for the repercussions of the crisis, calling for urgent intervention to restore electricity supply immediately.
The Foundation also called for providing the basic and emergency needs of the population, especially fuel for distribution stations, in order to alleviate the severity of the crisis that these areas have been experiencing for days.
Fears are increasing about the continued outage, given its direct connection to vital sectors, which will exacerbate the pressure on the population and deepen the humanitarian crisis in southern Libya.
