The city of Ibn Ahmed remains in shock following a horrific discovery that shook its entire city on Sunday, April 20, 2025, as human remains were found inside the bathrooms of the Great Mosque. This horrific incident turned the quiet city into a scene of intense security investigations, amid a state of anxiety and anticipation among residents.
According to informed sources, the local division of the judicial police in the city of Ibn Ahmed, with the support of the state service of the judicial police in Settat, initiated a judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor. The investigations aim to uncover the circumstances of the discovery of human remains of bones and limbs, which were found wrapped in plastic bags in the bathrooms attached to the mosque. A group of bladed weapons were also seized from the crime scene, which strengthens the hypothesis that a criminal act was committed.
The same sources reported that the Scientific and Technical Police conducted a preliminary inspection, revealing shocking details, while preliminary investigations suggested the involvement of a person who was arrested near the site prior to the discovery. According to the information, the suspect appeared to be in a disturbed state, and was wearing clothes with traces of blood, which strengthened suspicions about him. A search of his home resulted in the seizure of mysterious movables and property, the source of which and their possible connection to the crime are being investigated.
In a related context, search and combing operations continue in bare lands in the city, where security personnel and local authorities have deployed to find the rest of the victim’s remains or additional evidence. Video clips were circulated on social media showing this intense security move.
The discovered body parts were transferred to the National Laboratory of Scientific and Technical Police to conduct genetic tests aimed at identifying the victim. DNA samples removed from the crime scene and the suspect’s clothing are also examined to confirm his involvement and to reveal the motives and backgrounds behind this crime that astonished the city.
Ibn Ahmed residents are awaiting the results of the investigations amid questions about the identity of the victim and the motives for the crime, while the security services are intensifying their efforts to uncover the truth and bring those involved to justice.
