Company announcedEniItalian Energy Successful start-up of the gas compression project in theplatform SabrathaMarine, which is implemented in partnership with the National Oil Corporation through the Mellitah Oil and Gas Project, in a step aimed at raising gas production from the Bahr al-Salam field and enhancing energy security in Libya.
The project includes installing a new pressure unit on the Sabratha platform with a total capacity of about440 million cubic feet of gas per dayThis allows production to continue despite the natural decrease in pressure in the Bahr El Salam field.
The project is expected to add approximately800 million cubic meters of gas annually, along with quantities of accompanying condensates, which will contribute to supporting electricity production inside Libya, while continuing to export gas to Italy via a pipeline“Greenstream”.
The Sabratha platform is one of the largest offshore oil and gas facilities in Libya, and is located about110 kilometersFrom the coast above the Bahr Al Salam field, it includes advanced facilities for gas processing and well maintenance, in addition to residential facilities and a helicopter landing pad.
Eni confirmed that the project reflects its ability, in cooperation with the National Oil Corporation, to complete complex marine projects according to the specified timetable, noting the continuation of work on other strategic projects, including the Al-Buri field gas exploitation project and the marine structures development projectA and E.
