The Ministry of National Education, Primary Education and Sports announced the amendment of the dates for conducting the local unified exam and the continuous monitoring assignments for the first year of the 2025/2026 school season, in the primary and secondary education branches, due to its coincidence with the final match of the African Cup of Nations.
According to an official correspondence addressed to the principals and directors of the regional academies of education and training, it was decided to postpone the local unified exam, which was scheduled for January 19 and 20, 2026, to be conducted on the 20 and 21 of the same month, while resetting the programming of continuous monitoring assignments related to the same period.
The Ministry explained that this decision falls within the framework of its keenness to provide appropriate conditions for passing the calendar exams, especially in light of its coincidence with the final of the continental championship, which the Moroccan national team will compete on Sunday, January 18, 2026, and the wide interest this sporting event attracts among students and their families.
The same correspondence confirmed that the details related to the organizational controls and detailed programming for conducting postponed exams and continuous monitoring assignments will be communicated to the regional academies and educational institutions at a later time.
This development comes days after Parliamentarian Muhammad Ozin directed a written question to the Minister of National Education, in which he called for studying the possibility of postponing the certification exams, given their coincidence with the final of the African Cup of Nations and the impact of this on the psychological atmosphere of the students.
The parliamentarian explained that this measure would enable learners to interact with the atmosphere of national joy accompanying the sporting event, and at the same time give them an additional margin of time to prepare well for the exams in more focused and reassuring conditions.
