US Deputy Secretary of State, Christopher Landau, announced that the United States has decided to encourage American companies to invest in the southern provinces of the Kingdom of Morocco, in a new step that confirms its firm position in support of Morocco’s full sovereignty over its desert.
This statement came following discussions held by Landau, on Wednesday in New York, with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Residing Abroad, Nasser Bourita. The American official explained that this trend reflects Washington’s vision aimed at strengthening economic and trade diplomacy at the international level.
Landau stressed the depth of the relations that have united Rabat and Washington for centuries, highlighting that they constitute a model of fruitful cooperation. He also stressed the US administration’s readiness to continue working alongside Morocco in order to support stability, development and prosperity in the region.
