On Tuesday, the Libyan House of Representatives approved the allocation of a financial budget estimated at approximately210 ملايين دينار ليبي، أي ما يعادل نحو33.3 مليون دولار، لتمويل الاستحقاقات الانتخابية التشريعية والرئاسية المرتقبة في البلاد.
She reportedالمفوضية الوطنية العليا للانتخاباتIn an official statement, it said that it had received House of Representatives Resolution No. (3) of 2026, regarding allocating the necessary financial appropriations to cover the expenses of organizing the upcoming elections, within the framework of the ongoing preparations for the awaited political elections.
The statement explained that the decision provides for the Commission to be empowered with the aforementioned budget, to be spent under the supervision of the Presidency of the House of Representatives, in order to cover the technical and logistical aspects associated with the electoral process.
The Commission welcomed this step, describing it as an indication of the legislative authority’s commitment to supporting the democratic process, stressing its readiness to begin implementing the necessary technical and organizational arrangements as soon as the approved legal procedures are completed.
