Starting Tuesday, September 23, the Director General of the General Directorate of National Security and the General Directorate of National Territorial Surveillance, Abdellatif Hamouchi, will conduct a working visit to the United Arab Emirates, accompanied by an important security delegation, in the context of the efforts made to consolidate the security partnership and enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries in various police and security fields.

A statement from the General Directorate of National Territorial Surveillance stated that this visit was marked by a meeting with the Director of the UAE State Security Service, Mr. Talal Rashid Al Zaabi, who was accompanied by high-level Emirati security officials. The meeting included bilateral discussions and consultations on various issues of common interest.

The same source added that the joint discussions reviewed various security challenges and threats related to the current international and regional context, especially the dangers of terrorism and extremism in areas of tension across the world, specifically in the sub-Saharan Sahel region of the African continent in particular.

This meeting also constituted an opportunity to study and discuss ways to enhance operational cooperation between the two countries to confront various threats related to terrorism and cross-border organized crime, by activating and revitalizing the channels for implementing joint security operations as one of the procedural mechanisms that have proven their effectiveness in international cooperation, as well as intensifying and diversifying the forms and levels of bilateral cooperation between the two countries, including exchanging expertise and experiences in other security fields, strengthening inter-coordination and exchanging information to ensure a firm and proactive response to the various hostile acts that threaten security.
