Nouakchott –The Mauritanian capital, Nouakchott, celebratesJuly 7, 2026The African Forum for Electricity and Renewable Energy, in a joint initiative between Morocco and Mauritania, aims to strengthen African energy cooperation and expand partnerships in the fields of electricity, renewable energies, and investment in infrastructure.
The forum is organized at the initiative ofNational Federation of Electricity, Electronics and Renewable Energy in MoroccoAnd the Mauritanian Federation of Energy and Electricity, with the support ofAfrican Confederation of Electricity and Renewable Energies “CAFILEK”Within the framework of supporting South-South cooperation and devoting sustainable partnerships between actors in the public and private sectors.
Government officials, heads of public institutions and companies, representatives of professional bodies, investors and experts from several African countries will participate in this event, to discuss mechanisms for developing integration between energy systems on the continent, exchanging experiences, and encouraging joint projects.
The forum will discuss a number of files related to the energy transition, including the Mauritanian Energy Charter, national investment programs, electrical infrastructure projects, regional connectivity, rural electrification, and renewable energies, in addition to project financing mechanisms.
It will also highlight the most prominent energy projects underway in Morocco and Mauritania, most notably the electrical interconnection project between Mauritania and Mali, and programs for universal access to electricity, in addition to the Moroccan rural electrification program, as models of regional cooperation in the field of energy.
The forum’s program also includes bilateral business meetings bringing together Moroccan, Mauritanian, and African companies specialized in electricity, electronics, and renewable energies, with the aim of opening new horizons for investment and enhancing economic cooperation within the continent.
