Mauritanian-Qatari discussions to expand investments and deepen development cooperation

The Mauritanian Minister of Economic Affairs and Development, Abdullah Suleiman Al-Sheikh Sidiya, held discussions with the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Mauritania, Shaheen bin Ali Al-Kaabi, which focused on ways to enhance economic cooperation between the two countries, with a focus on boosting investments and expanding financing areas that support growth.

The meeting took place at the Ministry’s headquarters in Nouakchott, where the two parties reviewed the reality of bilateral relations in the economic field, and discussed mechanisms for developing the partnership in line with the development priorities of the two countries, in addition to discussing files of common interest.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Development, these consultations fall within the efforts to strengthen Arab cooperation and intensify coordination in vital sectors related to development and social policies in Mauritania.

The meeting was attended by a number of sector executives, including the Economic Advisor, Mustafa Sayed Mohamed, the Secretary-General of the Ministry, Mohamed Salem Ould Al-Nani, along with the Director-General of Finance and Economic Cooperation.
