A source close to the family of the Prime Minister of the Libyan National Unity Government reportedAbdul Hamid Al-DabaibaThe latter was transferred, this morning, to a hospital center in the city of Misrata, after suffering a sudden health illness that required him to be subjected to precautionary medical examinations.
The source explained, in a press statement, that the Prime Minister felt a sudden increase in blood pressure and an acceleration in his heartbeat, which necessitated his transfer to the Heart Hospital in Misrata to undergo medical tests and an electrocardiogram, stressing that his health condition is stable and does not cause concern.
The same source denied the validity of what was circulated on some social media platforms regarding the deterioration of the Prime Minister’s health condition or his transfer to the intensive care room, stressing that the matter is only related to conducting regular medical examinations, while keeping him under temporary medical observation.
According to the available data, the supervising medical team decided to subject the bear to a preventive catheterization procedure, with the aim of ensuring the safety of the arteries and ensuring normal blood flow, provided that he leaves the hospital at a later time, noting that some members of his family prefer to perform this medical intervention outside Libya, for reasons related to medical accuracy, without this being linked to any negative development in his condition.
It is noteworthy that Abdul Hamid Al-Dabaiba assumed the presidency of the Libyan National Unity Government in 2021, following the outcomes of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum held in Geneva under the auspices of the United Nations, which led to his election as Prime Minister within the framework of an international process aimed at unifying the country’s executive institutions.
These health developments come in a Libyan political context characterized by the sensitivity of the stage, but informed sources confirmed that the health status of the Prime Minister does not currently affect his performance of his official duties.
