Kyiv –Two people were killed and six others were injured, today, Thursday, as a result of a Russian missile attack targeting the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, while the outgoing British Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, heads to Ukraine to hold talks with President Volodymyr Zelensky about developments in the war and military support.
The Ukrainian authorities announced that Russian ballistic missiles targeted two areas in Kiev, causing fires to break out in warehouses and storage buildings, in addition to damaging a number of trucks. The attack resulted in the death of two people and the injury of six others, including a 16-year-old boy.
The military administration in Kiev confirmed that the attack was the sixth of its kind targeting the capital since the beginning of July, in light of the escalation of Russian missile and drone strikes on several Ukrainian cities.
The attacks extended to the cities of Odessa and Kharkiv, where the raids caused damage to civilian facilities, while the Ukrainian Air Force announced the downing of three missiles and 129 drones launched by Russia during the night.
On the other hand, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that its forces targeted infrastructure facilities in the ports of Odessa, fuel depots, and drone assembly facilities in Kiev. It also confirmed that hundreds of Ukrainian drones were shot down over Russian regions, including the capital, Moscow.
Politically, the outgoing British Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, is holding talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kiev, to discuss developments in the war and the level of military support provided to Ukraine, in one of his last foreign visits before leaving office.
