Rabat –The captain of the Moroccan women’s national team, Ghizlane Chebbak, received special honors from the President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, Fawzi Lakjaa, who handed her a commemorative shirt to commemorate her playing her 100th international match for the national team.
Al-Shabak entered the history of Moroccan football as the first player to reach 100 international matches with the women’s national team, an achievement that reflects a career full of giving and excellence at the national and international levels.
The 35-year-old leader of the “Atlas Lionesses” continues to write new pages in her football career, based on the great experience she has accumulated with the national team and the Royal Army Club, in addition to professional experiences in Spain and Saudi Arabia.
The daughter of the late player El-Arabi El Chebbak aspires to lead the Moroccan national team towards winning the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, after she was crowned the best player in the African continent for the year 2025, confirming her position as one of the most prominent stars of women’s football in Africa.
This honor comes before the anticipated confrontation that awaits the women’s national team, as the Atlas Lionesses team will meet its South African counterpart, next Saturday, on the grounds of Moulay El Hassan Stadium in Rabat, in the quarter-finals of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations “Morocco 2026”, starting at nine in the evening. The Moroccan national team reached this round leading the first group with seven points, while the South African national team qualified after finishing second in the second group with four points, in a match during which the national team seeks to continue its journey towards competing for the continental title.
