The African Union Appeals Committee had previously upheld the decision to lose Senegal, while confirming the result of the match in favor of Morocco, based on Articles 82 and 84 of the applicable laws.

In a parallel development, the President of the Confederation of African Football, Patrice Motsepe, affirmed his full commitment to respecting the decision of the Court of Arbitration for Sport, stressing that his personal opinion has no influence on the course of the case, and that all decisions will remain subject to the principle of independence and impartiality.

Motsepe pointed out that the difference in decisions between judicial bodies within CAF reflects their independence, stressing that no party will receive preferential treatment, and that the goal is to ensure fair and transparent decisions.
