“TAS” postpones the decision in the “Cannes 2025” final…continuing anticipation between Morocco and Senegal

Sports –The appeal filed by the Senegalese Football Federation before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS/TAS) regarding the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final remains unresolved, in the absence of any official decision from the international sports body regarding the date of issuing the final ruling.

According to what was reported by the Spanish website IUSPORT, which specializes in sports law, the decision that was expected during the month of July may be postponed until next October, after the source suggested that the hearing be held during the month of September, followed by the deliberations stage, which may take about a month before the ruling is issued.

The Senegalese Federation had appealed the decision of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), which awarded the 2025 African Cup title to the Moroccan national team, after the Senegal national team was considered to have withdrawn from the final match that was scheduled for last January.

So far, the Court of Arbitration for Sport or the Confederation of African Football have not issued any official communication specifying the date of the hearing or the date of pronouncement of the ruling, which keeps the file open and prolongs the state of anticipation in both Rabat and Dakar.
