The authority added that the shipment crossed the borders of the Customs Union on board a truck bearing Polish registration plates, noting that a review of the information systems and the response received from the German veterinary authorities showed that the source of the products was unknown, which prompted Moscow to address the Uzbek authorities to verify the source of the shipment and the party sending it.
The Russian authorities confirmed that the new restrictions will not include shipments that were approved and sent before August 5, provided that they complete their transit through Russian territory no later than August 6.
The authority indicated that these procedures will remain in effect until the investigations are completed and consultations are conducted with the European Commission, in preparation for evaluating the next steps in light of the results of the investigation.
