Bern/Geneva –The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania in Switzerland and its Permanent Mission to the United Nations in Geneva, headed by Ambassador Aisha Val Verges, participated in two cultural events organized on the occasion of the celebration of Africa Day, with the participation of a number of accredited African diplomatic missions.
The first event was held on May 26 in the Swiss capital, Bern, while the United Nations headquarters in Geneva hosted the second event on May 28, within the framework of celebrating the cultural diversity of the African continent and promoting rapprochement among its peoples.
The Mauritanian pavilion witnessed the display of local products and traditional dishes that reflect the richness and diversity of the national cultural heritage, attracting the interest of visitors and participants who learned about aspects of the Mauritanian heritage, customs and traditions.
This participation also provided an opportunity to introduce Mauritanian culture and enhance its presence in international spaces, in addition to expanding areas of communication and cooperation with the African diplomatic missions participating in the two demonstrations.
The two events reflected the atmosphere of solidarity and rapprochement between African countries, and also highlighted the role played by cultural diplomacy in promoting dialogue between peoples and presenting a positive image of the countries of the continent on the international scene.
