Ankara –The Turkish capital, Ankara, witnessed a series of high-level meetings between Libyan and Turkish officials, focusing on enhancing security and military cooperation, and discussing developments in the situation in Libya, within the framework of joint efforts to support stability and advance the path of a political settlement.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defense in the Government of National Unity, Abdul Salam Al-Zoubi, met with the head of the Turkish National Intelligence Service, Ibrahim Kalin, where the two sides discussed developments in the Libyan scene, and efforts to unify the military institution on professional and national foundations, in a way that strengthens the unity of state institutions and supports the path to a political solution.

During the meeting, the two parties stressed the importance of continuing coordination and consultation on issues of common concern, and supporting initiatives aimed at establishing security and stability and creating the appropriate conditions for the success of the political process in Libya.
In the same context, the Minister of the Interior of the National Unity Government, Major General Imad Mustafa Trabelsi, held a meeting with the head of the Turkish National Intelligence Service, Ibrahim Kalin, to discuss ways to enhance security and intelligence cooperation between the two countries, and mechanisms for developing coordination between the competent agencies to confront common security challenges.

The Libyan Ministry of Interior explained that the meeting comes within the official visit conducted by Trabelsi to Ankara, which also included a meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, in addition to a meeting with his Turkish counterpart, Mustafa Çifçi, devoted to discussing strengthening security cooperation and facilitating procedures for Libyan citizens residing in Turkey, especially with regard to visas and residency.
These meetings reflect continued coordination between Libya and Turkey on security and military files, in addition to supporting bilateral cooperation on a number of issues of common interest.
