Tripoli –The head of the Libyan Presidential Council, Mohamed Menfi, received a written message from Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Sheikh Ghazouani, conveyed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad, Mohamed Salem Ould Marzouk, during his reception on Sunday evening in the Libyan capital, Tripoli.
According to the Libyan Presidential Council, the meeting discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to enhance joint cooperation in a number of fields, in addition to discussing prospects for developing the partnership to serve mutual interests.
During the discussions, Al-Manfi stressed Libya’s keenness to consolidate its relations with Mauritania and expand areas of cooperation and coordination between the two sides, in a way that strengthens the existing ties between the two countries.
The visit falls within the framework of ongoing consultations between Libya and Mauritania on issues of common interest, and efforts to enhance Arab and African cooperation at the political and economic levels.
