Rabat –Today, Tuesday, the Minister of the Interior held two meetings with leaders and officials of political parties, in preparation for the elections for members of the House of Representatives scheduled for September 23, 2026, where the most prominent organizational and practical procedures for the electoral entitlement were presented, in addition to the announcement of the activation of the Central Committee to track the elections in implementation of the High Royal Instructions.
During the two meetings, the Ministry of the Interior presented the outcome of the review of the general electoral regulations, which was completed under the supervision of the administrative committees headed by judges during the period extending from May 15 to July 10, 2026. The new procedure for filing nomination statements via a dedicated electronic platform was also explained, with the original files being deposited with the competent authorities.
The Ministry also reviewed the legal and regulatory requirements related to the state’s contribution to financing the electoral campaigns of political parties participating in the House of Representatives elections.
In the same context, party leaders were informed of the royal order to activate the Central Election Tracking Committee, which includes the Minister of the Interior and the Chief Public Prosecutor, and is responsible for supervising ensuring the integrity and safety of the electoral process in its various stages. Regional and regional committees will also be created, headed by governors, workers, and representatives of the Public Prosecution, to monitor the progress of the elections at the territorial level.
The two meetings witnessed an exchange of views between the Ministry of Interior and representatives of political parties on measures to create the appropriate conditions for the success of the vote, where party officials confirmed their readiness to contribute to the success of this electoral entitlement, expressing their appreciation for the royal directives related to strengthening election tracking mechanisms.
