Morocco –International media reports revealed new data related to military and strategic cooperation between Morocco and the United States of America, in the context of the visit made by a high-level Moroccan military delegation to Washington this April, as part of the work of the fourteenth session of the Moroccan-American Defense Advisory Committee.
According to what was reported by the Africa Intelligence website, the discussions that brought together Moroccan and American military officials covered files related to regional security, defense coordination, and geopolitical developments in the Middle East, in addition to strengthening the military partnership between Rabat and Washington during the next stage.
The Moroccan delegation was headed by Abdellatif Loudiyi, Minister Delegate in charge of the Administration of National Defense, and Mohamed Bariz, Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces and Commander of the Southern Region, where meetings were held with US military officials, including US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth.
According to the same source, the two sides discussed strategic files related to defence, military industries and cybersecurity, within the framework of the new road map for military cooperation signed between the two countries for the period extending from 2026 to 2036.
The report also talked about discussing issues related to the security situation in the Middle East, including the possibility of Morocco participating in an international stabilization force in Gaza, by sending military and security personnel and contributing to the management of a field hospital, if this initiative is launched under international supervision.
The report also indicated that the Moroccan delegation presented a vision for coordinating joint support for the benefit of the Gulf allies in confronting what the source described as “Iranian threats,” within the framework of growing security and military cooperation between Rabat and Washington.
This development comes in the context of advanced relations between Morocco and the United States, which include multiple fields, including defence, security, economic and technological cooperation, in addition to joint military exercises, most notably African Lion 2026.
To date, no official clarifications have been issued by the Moroccan or American authorities regarding the details contained in the media report, especially with regard to the Gaza file or the nature of the proposed support for Gulf allies.
