FIFA puts the 2026 World Cup final grass for sale… Prices reach $3,000

United States –The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has reinvented the concept of sports memorabilia, after announcing that original pieces of the floor of MetLife Stadium, which will host the 2026 World Cup final, will be offered for sale to fans in an unprecedented initiative for game fans.

FIFA explained that these pieces were taken from the grass that will witness the final match scheduled for July 19, and were preserved inside resin to protect them from damage, before being displayed in luxurious commemorative designs bearing the tournament logo and details of the final.

The versions offered vary according to size and contents, with the price of the basic version starting at about $450, while the price of the luxury version reaches approximately $3,000, and includes a larger piece of grass, a commemorative golden ticket, a miniature copy of the official ball, and a model of the World Cup, in addition to a digital certificate confirming the authenticity of the product.

The International Federation indicated that the shipment of these collectibles will not begin until after the curtain falls on the final match, while the delivery service will be limited to buyers in Europe, the United States, and the United Kingdom.

This step comes within the framework of FIFA’s strategy to provide exclusive collectibles to football fans, and give them the opportunity to own a part of the largest football event in the world, in one of the strangest and most expensive memorabilia presented in the history of the World Cup tournaments.
