Eastern Libya –Yesterday, Wednesday, several regions in eastern Libya entered a state of exceptional alert following a wave of violent sandstorms, causing dozens of cases of suffocation and confusing various vital facilities.
Data issued by the local authorities in Tobruk indicated that the volatile climate situation forced the declaration of a state of emergency on a large scale, including a number of cities and regions extending east, west and south, under the direct influence of dust-laden winds.
A municipal media official explained thatHealth facilitiesThe center, led by Tobruk Medical Center, received more than 45 cases suffering from shortness of breath, as a result of heavy inhalation of dust, coinciding with a noticeable deterioration in the level of vision.
Strong winds, with speeds approaching 70 kilometers per hour, caused field damage, including the collapse of electrical poles in some areas, which further complicated the field situation.
As part of the precautionary measures, the Emergency Committee decided to raise the alert level to the maximum level, with the arrest ofStudyTemporarily, to avoid any risks that may threaten the safety of students and educational frameworks.
For their part, a number of residents spoke of unusual scenes, as thick dust clouds quickly covered the sky and largely obscured the vision, turning the day into semi-darkness in a short time.
The meteorological services had previously alerted to these fluctuations, expecting strong, dusty winds to continue blowing, especially in the eastern regions, with temperatures dropping, before conditions began to gradually improve by the end of Thursday.
