Ben Arous: Seizing thousands of liters of mineral water stored in dangerous conditions that may affect consumer safety

Tunisia –The surveillance teams of the National Authority for Health Safety of Food Products in the state of Ben Arous, in coordination with the security and commercial services, seized63 thousand and 530 liters of mineral waterAfter being caught stored in conditions that do not meet health safety standards.

The authority explained, in a statement, that the seized quantities were stored in an open space and directly exposed to sunlight and dust, which constitutes a violation of the conditions for preserving mineral water, and may affect the quality and safety of the product.

The Authority confirmed that exposing water bottles to high temperatures or storing them in inappropriate places represents a threat to the quality of the product, recalling that it had previously warned against these practices and called on all those involved in the mineral water distribution and marketing sector to adhere to proper storage conditions.

She stressed that monitoring campaigns will continue to confront such violations and take legal measures against violators, calling on consumers to purchase mineral water from points of sale that respect preservation conditions, and to avoid buying bottles displayed under direct sunlight or in inappropriate conditions, while reporting any violations through the channels designated for that.
