Casablanca –During the early hours of Sunday morning, May 10, 2026, the security services in the city of Casablanca arrested three people between the ages of 19 and 24, on suspicion of involvement in serious acts of violence related to sports riots between groups affiliated with the “Ultras” factions.
According to security data, police officers from the Moulay Rachid security zone intervened after receiving notification of the outbreak of violent confrontations between a group of people suspected of belonging to factions of fans of local football clubs.
According to the same source, these confrontations witnessed the use of bladed weapons and meteors, and part of the events were documented in video clips that were widely circulated on social media sites.
The circulated recordings showed scenes of serious violence described as shocking, including mutual assaults and an attempt to inflict serious injuries on one of the participants in the confrontations, which sparked widespread interaction among observers.
The rapid security intervention resulted in the re-imposition of public order and the arrest of three suspects shortly after the events occurred, while investigations are continuing to determine the identity of the remaining possible perpetrators.
The detainees were placed under the supervision of a judicial investigation, which is being conducted under the supervision of the competent Public Prosecution, in order to reveal all the circumstances of the case and determine the backgrounds related to these criminal acts.
This incident comes in the context of the security services’ continued efforts to confront manifestations of riots and violence related to sports competitions, especially after the growing spread of some violent behavior among fan groups.
