Beni MellalThe security services in the city of Beni Mellal arrested a doctor and an assistant nurse, along with a private guard at the regional hospital, on suspicion of their involvement in a case related to bribery and extortion, following a complaint submitted by a citizen via the green number designated for reporting corruption crimes.
According to identical data, the complainant reported that he was subjected to blackmail in order to obtain a medical certificate, before submitting a notification to the competent authorities, which initiated legal procedures under the supervision of the competent Public Prosecution.
On instructions from the Public Prosecution, members of the judicial police opened an investigation into the case, which resulted in the arrest of the suspects in flagrante delicto while they were receiving a sum of money amounting to1000 dirhamsThe financial compensation is suspected to be the subject of the extortion operation.
Research and investigations are continuing to uncover all the circumstances of this case and determine potential legal responsibilities, under the supervision of the competent Public Prosecution.
It is noteworthy that suspects enjoy the presumption of innocence, according to the law, until a final judicial ruling is issued.
